Continuing to strengthen our community health collaboration at the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust's Annual Meeting

Bristol Rovers Community Trust (BRCT) was proud to play a key role in the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Meeting and Health Fair at the Memorial Stadium on Thursday 24 September, highlighting the continued impact of our collaboration and the important role sport can play in supporting the health and wellbeing of communities across Bristol.

The event brought together patients, members, governors, NHS staff, community organisations, partners and representatives from across the local health and care system, providing an opportunity to reflect on the Trust’s work over the past year and showcase the organisations working together to improve outcomes for local communities.

As part of the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Meeting and Health Fair, BRCT CEO Adam Tutton delivered a 15-minute Spotlight Presentation, sharing the work of Bristol Rovers Community Trust and highlighting the impact of our ongoing collaborations with the NHS since our collaboration agreement began in November 2025.

The collaboration demonstrates how football and community organisations can work alongside health partners to reach people in familiar, accessible environments and provide opportunities to engage with health and wellbeing support at an early stage.

A key part of BRCT’s approach is early intervention – helping people access the right support, information and activities before issues become more complex. By using the reach of Bristol Rovers and the Trust’s established community programmes, we can help signpost local people towards appropriate health and wellbeing services while encouraging positive lifestyle choices and greater engagement with support available within the city.

Alongside Adam’s presentation, BRCT Mental Health Lead Costa Chard was on hand at the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Meeting and Health Fair to promote the Trust’s Rebound with Rovers mental health sessions, as well as the EFL React sessions.

The presence of these programmes at the Health Fair underlined the breadth of the collaboration and the importance of creating accessible routes into mental health and wellbeing support. The event brought together 30 Health Fair stallholders from NHS services, community organisations and partner agencies, demonstrating the strength of collaborative working across Bristol.

The collaboration between Bristol Rovers Community Trust and Bristol NHS Foundation Trust reflects a shared ambition to support healthier communities by connecting people with the right opportunities and support in the places where they live, work and spend their time.

For BRCT, the Memorial Stadium is more than a football venue. It is a community asset that can bring people together, open conversations around health and wellbeing, and provide a platform for organisations to reach audiences who may not otherwise engage with traditional health services.

As the collaboration between BRCT and Bristol NHS Foundation Trust continues to develop, both organisations remain committed to exploring new ways that sport, community engagement and health services can work together to support people across Bristol.

The Bristol NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Meeting and Health Fair was an important opportunity to celebrate that progress and look ahead to the next stage of the collaboration – continuing to create meaningful, accessible interventions within our communities and helping people take positive steps towards better health and wellbeing.
